CHILDRENS HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER OF AKRON Senior Configuration Engineer in Akron, Ohio

Full Time 40 Hours/Week Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm On-Call Rotation Remote, Onsite required 1 day per month or as needed per business needs Summary: The Senior Configuration Engineer maintains and manages current and future client device infrastructures, provides technical leadership, and mentors staff in technologies supported. Responsibilities: 1. Provide technical leadership and mentor staff in technologies supported. 2. Identify and implement advance configuration and integrations into the different technologies. 3. As a senior member, you are required to ensure testing and documentation is completed prior to production deployment. 4. Determines estimates for project tasks and assists with prioritization. 5. Maintains and manages current and future client device infrastructures. 6. Responsible for documentation, testing, change control, and the ability to communicate effectively. 7. Responsible for SCCM environment activities including administering and monitoring the SCCM infrastructure and leading the creation, testing, and deploying MS security patches, collections, packages, and advertisements. 8. Responsible for compatibility testing activities including testing to ensure base image is compatible with all software and new hardware. 9. Responsible for security activities including coordinating installation of security patches and OS patches; managing and securing desktops through GPOs, Least Privileged users, Full Desktop Encryption, and Windows Firewall; ensuring AD OU's and GPO's follow a documented architecture; and creating and maintaining standards for desktop and server virus protection. 10. Other duties as required. Other information: Technical Expertise 1. Experience with System Center Configuration Manager [SCCM] with experience working in medium to large environments is required. 2. Experience with Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and network protocols and standards is required. 3. Experience with Windows Server OS, Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policies, image deployment, software deployment, asset intelligence, and software updates is required. 4. Experience with mobile devices, desktop encryption, scripting language, virtualization of OS and applications [App-V], and Anti-virus is preferred. 5. Experience in project management is required. 6. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required. 7. Experience in healthcare is preferred. 8. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Education and Experience 1. Education: Associate's degree in related field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. 2. Certification: None. 3. Years of relevant experience: 5 to 7 years is preferred. 4. Years of experience supervising: None.
