Overview

Development InfoStructure (Devis) is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team as a federal contractor contingent upon contract award. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in government security standards such as the NIST 800 series and other relevant guidelines from government departments. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing information security requirements for IT systems through the Risk Management Framework (RMF), as well as providing support to the organization's information security program.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and managing information security requirements for IT systems in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of the organization's information security program.

  • Assisting agencies in identifying their current security infrastructure, defining future programs, and designing and implementing security measures for IT systems.

  • Leading and overseeing the work of security staff in designing, developing, engineering, and implementing solutions to meet security requirements.

  • Gathering and organizing technical information about the organization's mission goals and needs, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the MLS arena.

  • Conducting risk analyses, including risk assessment, to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to the organization.

  • Maintaining knowledge of current business security practices and procedures, security tools available, and hardware/software security implementation.

  • Staying current with different communication protocols, encryption techniques/tools, commercial products, and Internet/EC technology.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Overall 5+ years of information security and compliance experience relative to the position qualifications, including at least 2+ years of direct experience with RMF lifecycle, assessments, and successful security authorizations.

  • Completed one or more of the following: CRISC, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent certifications.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of business security practices and procedures, current security tools available, hardware/software security implementation, and communication protocols.

  • Proficiency in encryption techniques/tools, familiarity with commercial products, and current Internet/EC technology.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

     

    Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a clearance or a Public Trust is preferred; however, all clearance levels and non-cleared applicants will also be considered.

     

    Education / Certifications

  • A completed Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in an IT-related field.
