Lockheed Martin Mission Initiatives Senior Manager in Arlington, Virginia

Description: This leader will create new LM growth opportunities by leading LM Corporate Strategy mission initiatives. Mission initiatives are partnerships with customers to assess their mission challenges, identify integrated mission solutions, develop mission campaigns to deliver these solutions, and orchestrate advocacy initiatives to build support for solutions. The candidate will work across the LM enterprise, draw on the full range of LM capabilities and offerings, and engage on the full range of customer mission needs.

The candidate will manage a portfolio of initiatives across a range of LM customers. The candidate will form and lead OneLM teams of business area, functional, and country team experts to engage customers, develop mission campaigns, and deliver new growth opportunities. Working with LM teammates, the candidate will build partnerships with customers, work within the company to develop LM solutions, help align customer resources and acquisition timelines, build industrial partnerships, and recommend LM investments. The candidate will work with LM teammates to assess capability alternatives given technical feasibility, US export release, cost, schedule, and industrial factors.

Customer and stakeholder engagements will occur at multiple classification levels. The candidate will build strong partnerships with LM business area BD and strategy teams, LM Government Affairs, Corporate Engineering and Technology, and LM country leaders and teams. The candidate will be responsible for communicating mission and technical insights and recommendations to a diverse audience, including senior LM and customer executives. The candidate will make recommendations for LM corporate and country strategies, technology strategy and IRAD investments, shaping and other BD initiatives, and industrial partnerships.

The candidate will be a US citizen reporting to the GBDS VP for Corporate Strategy in Bethesda, MD. The candidate will also engage virtually and through significant US and business travel.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.

• Fifteen (15) years or more of professional experience or twelve (12) years of professional experience with a related master’s degree.

• Advanced professional knowledge of military missions and capabilities.

• Excellent listening and communication skills, experience managing projects and budgets.

• US Secret-level clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Recognized as an expert authority in military missions

• Expertise in US and customer mission engagement

• Familiarity with wargaming, operations analysis, and mission capability demonstrations

• Familiarity with US and military mission priorities and decision-making processes

• Ability to manage complex programs and deliver on commitments

• US Top Secret-level clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
