We are seeking an experienced, independent, and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) join our team. As our BIE, you will thrive on the challenge of vast data analysis that has impacts on millions of dollars of spend and thousands of transactions. You will use this knowledge to generate insights that drive programmatic improvements in the end-to-end supply chain and circular logistics infrastructure. Data analysis is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team. You will be gathering insights, mining data, making recommendations, and helping supply chain and program leaders make key business decisions.

We are looking for someone with experience in defining key requirements using data and drawing out business insights that directly impact our business and those adjacent to our own. You will own the development of new and existing artifacts that are focused on the analysis of requirements, metrics, and reporting and then drive key decisions with business owners to accomplish the overall vision and mission of the organization. You will have an ability to make data-driven conclusions and will be comfortable with ambiguity while working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. You will also need to earn trust with stakeholder teams to define and implement solutions that will yield benefits to Amazon customers around the world.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of data pipeline, ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to help determine key business conclusions.

  • Create, maintain, and improve data sets, pipelines, reports, and dashboards to track and manage important metrics and goals.

  • Understand the business challenges and identify data-driven business insights with effective presentation of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders.

  • Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business.

  • Update existing and create new metrics and reporting that help drive business conclusions, continually improving reporting and analysis processes.

  • Leverage data to increase the efficiency of our programs working closely with the partner teams to drive optimization

  • Provide analytical support for new pilot, program, and project launches.

  • Understand the basics of test and control comparison; may provide insights through basic statistical measures such as hypothesis and sensitivity testing / analysis.

  • Communicate complex analytical insights and business implications effectively.

  • Partner with operations/business teams to consult, develop and implement KPI’s, automated reporting/process solutions, and process improvements to meet business needs.

  • Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions. Preparing and delivering business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
