The Analytics & Business Insight (ABI) organization supports multiple business units across Schwab through quantitative-based decision support. Our mission is to help Schwab better understand our customers and harness the power of analytics, insights and thought leadership to drive business impact.
Our Data-Driven Communications (DDC) team within ABI provides our marketing and business partners with support in their acquisition and client engagement strategies by identifying events, triggers, alerts, attributes, etc., that create opportunities for relevant interactions with all customers. In addition to this targeted outreach, our team delivers analytics to measure and modeling to optimize the effectiveness of these programs.
Customer data is a critical component in building these communications and marketing touch-points through our campaign management, marketing automation, and machine-learning platforms. Therefore a role has been created to ensure our teams have the marketing data needed to meet the increasing demands of our customers and to be the primary liaison with our Global Data and Technology organizations.
What you’ll do:
The Director, Marketing Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying needs and requirements for data in support of current and new marketing initiatives. This role will be a key stakeholder in the management of Schwab’s marketing data mart and roadmap. They will also ensure the marketing data is of the highest quality, work with internal partners to test / profile new marketing data and troubleshoot issues with the data. Additionally, they will provide requirements and document all available marketing data and support training, as needed, for the teams that will be leveraging the data in their communications or models. They must ensure that the marketing data assets, capabilities & processes are properly integrated & maintained, and consistent with the long-term, enterprise Global Data strategy.
This candidate must be open-minded, flexible and prepared to support multiple marketing teams and partners and have the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Define needs and partner with GDO and GDT in delivery of all Data-Driven Communication-related data, for new and existing programs / initiatives.
Work with internal marketing teams and partners to analyze, audit, and define appropriate collection, management, and use of marketing data.
Primary liaison with Schwab’s Global Data Office and IT’s Global Data Technology teams for DDC providing priorities and data requirements. .
Partner with relevant stakeholders to design and implement a marketing data quality roadmap for DDC.
Troubleshoot data quality issues – partner in identification of root cause / system & document / communicate the resolution.
Create and implement standards and best practices for marketing data consumers in order to ensure appropriate data usage.
Validate newly captured marketing data / information to ensure it followed the designed flow & format.
Provide deployment and management by providing requirements for marketing data quality monitoring systems.
Proactively engage with business partners to define their needs, prioritize efforts and introduce them to new opportunities.
Prioritize work requirements across all areas of DDC
Drive projects/initiatives that improve the efficiency of all ABI analysts through improvements in data, technology and processes.
What you have:
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information management, marketing, economics, or other quantitative discipline.
Be able to identify risk & dependencies and develop mitigation strategie
7 years or mo work experience in a Information Management and / or Technical Marketing role
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists
Ability to coordinate and manage various data-related requests
Lead all activities (planning, analysis, testing & reconciliation) in support of the delivery of data-related enhancements or record of leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and delivering solutions
Communicate progress and status of the various initiatives around data acquisition, data management, and data consumption for DDC.
Be able to identify risk & dependencies and develop mitigation strategies
Proven track record of leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and delivering solutions
Demonstrated leadership and strong project management skills experience is preferred
General understanding of predictive modeling and machine learning algorithms and their appropriate use.

Must possess a love for problem solving and genuinely enjoy helping our business partners and team members succeed
