Our Opportunity:

The GDT Marketing technology team is seeking an individual capable of implementing, integrating and maintaining systems that are critical to marketing operations. This QA role is a leader in defining innovative and effective software testing practices across a range of technology platforms. This individual will provide integration support in emerging Marketing technologies such as Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle Real Time Decisioning, and Hadoop. As a member of a growing marketing technology team, this role will be integral in taking Schwab’s marketing automation architecture to the next level.

What you’ll do:

This QA Engineer role requires the individual to be effective in building manual and automated test cases to cater to the specific needs of various products. The QA Engineer must also be effective in defining and executing both the project and release level Test Strategies, Test Plans and Test Cases/Scripts. The QA Engineer would also need to coordinate test execution with external vendors, as applicable. Your knowledge of modern development release practices will aid in the current adoption of Agile methodologies. The QA Engineer will work closely with developers to test new features and bug fixes for marketing technology integrations. The right candidate will have exposure to QA best practices as well as experience with QA-related functions such as vetting requirements, creating test plans and test cases, executing test cases, creating automation scripts, and reviewing regression results in order to quickly determine if our products are ready for market. This position will also be responsible for working with developers and technical support to debug issues to existing platforms and determine options for resolution. QA team members work very closely with developers on an integrated team dedicated to delivering high quality solutions, and the right candidate will enjoy being part of a highly interactive team.

The responsibilities include:

  • Working with the project manager/scrum masters to provide work estimates, testing schedule and providing project and release status and updates to product owners, tech leads and team managers

  • Preparing or assisting in the preparation of test plans, test scenarios, test cases, data setup, bug reporting, test evaluation summary report and communication of status/metrics to respective stakeholders

  • Working with team members for testing activities, participating in requirements ambiguity, reviewing use cases/user stories, conducting QA analysis.

  • Executing test cases and testing scripts and being hands on and detail oriented.

  • Attending Agile Ceremonies (Daily SCRUM, Sprint Planning/Review, Retrospectives, etc.) as required.

  • Working cross-organizationally both within Schwab and with external vendors, both on and offshore to define environment requirements, identifying approved QA-related tools, developing and executing QA process and testing best practices.

  • Collaborating with technical and other QA partners as required

What you have:

  • Solid experience testing BigData and Marketing technology products.

  • Experience with Oracle RTD and salesforce marketing is a plus.

  • Experience working in RDBMS and non-RDBMS databases like MapR-DB (Hbase), Spark and HIVE is strongly desired.

  • Create and execute software QA automation solutions.

  • Strong knowledge with Java and JavaScript preferred.

  • Experience testing SOAP and REST services.

  • Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) test strategies

  • Experience with automation tools like selenium, QTP etc.,

  • Working experience in Agile environment is highly preferred.
