The Tools Solutions team, part of the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, develops tools, processes, training, and reporting solutions for the application development lifecycle, in support of the Development and QA community within Schwab Technology Services.
We are currently offering the opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our team.
What you’ll do:
As a Tools Solutions Organization Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for driving various projects designed to deliver best in class tools, infrastructure support, and development services to our clients.
Our clients span the entire business but are primarily software developers, scrum masters, business analysts, project managers, and business partner teams that work closely with application development teams across the enterprise.
The tools we support are used every day by Schwab’s software development community and include Application Lifecycle Management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Agile Planning, Source Code Management, Test, Build, Security, and Process Automation tooling.
Manage the Tools Organization's business processes, including vendor contracts, licensing, budgeting, staffing, system records, compliance processes, disaster recovery plans, and tool retirement plans.
Become familiar with a wide subset of tools in order to understand client requirements, communicate status, and set priorities.
Tools include the Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Crowd, Zephyr/ZAPI, HipCHat), Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), TFS Build, Microsoft Visual Studio / Test Manager, GIT, Jenkins, Splunk, Puppet, IBM Security products, and other state-of-the-art build/test automation tools.
Provide leadership, expertise, and coaching on good Agile / Scrum / Kanban practices, and help drive the Tools Org Agile transformation.
Provide scrum master services for one or more scrum teams focused on providing Tools development, integration, and support.
Provide coaching and guidance for more junior scrum masters.
Assist the Managing Director and other management staff as needed with additional organizational tasks, team meetings, team event logistics, etc.
Communicate with individuals on application teams including Managers, Developers, Project Managers, and Infrastructure Support.
What you have:
BA/BS or higher degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5-10 years of experience in software project management in an Agile environment. Product owner experience is a plus.
Good working knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and systems administration and support.
Experience providing Agile leadership and guidance to less senior team members. Ability to multi-task with numerous activities running concurrently.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision- making and conflict resolution skills with a solid ability to identify stakeholders, assess their needs and manage their expectations through effective communication.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a desire to share knowledge through creation and refinement of written content.
Experience with Atlassian tool stack preferred.
Familiarity with other tools such as TFS, Visual Studio, Jenkins, etc. is a plus.
Experience in a DevOps / CD / CI oriented environment strongly desired.
Experience with financial services or other highly regulated industries desired.
Must have strong project management and project planning experience/knowledge with demonstrated ability to drive projects to successful completion.
Expert knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel, and MS Word along with general familiarity with Outlook and other MS Office application.
