Our Opportunity:

Are you someone who enjoys the challenge of finding ways to be creative while working in highly regulated industry? Can you fit complex ideas into 140 characters? Do you speak in hashtags or visualize Instagram stories? We have an opportunity for a Social Media Manager on our growing team who will partner with the Managing Director and various internal partners to develop social content for Schwab’s corporate social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Instagram) and Schwab’s employee and executive social media programs. These strategic communication channels are used to engage with clients, the public, and the media, and to provide perspectives and education on market events, investing, personal finance, company news and corporate culture.

What you’ll do:

  • Create compelling social marketing content including visuals, images, and infographics

  • Develop content calendars for multiple social media channels and programs, including corporate channels, employee ambassador programs, and executive social media channels

  • Work with internal and external teams to develop creative support for social media

  • Work with customer service and others to respond to community questions and comments

  • Advise on and executing social media strategy for major business, marketing, and public relations initiatives

  • Be able to provide training/support for Schwab employees on social media, promote proper use of social media within the organization

  • Social media program management – including monitoring, reporting, and archiving

  • Communicate effectively to team and stakeholders on social media performance

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in public relations, journalism, or social media. (A strong preference for experience working in financial services)

  • Strong familiarity with using social media in support of public relations efforts and to engage with different audiences.

  • Ability to distill complex issues and information into simple, tangible, and actionable messages for specific audiences.

  • Outstanding communication skills, including listening, verbal, editing, storytelling, writing, and strong judgment about when, how, what and to whom to communicate.

  • Strong project management skills – ability to define success criteria, identify project risks, opportunities and core stakeholders, and effectively manage scope, teams, timelines and details.

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator or other design software a plus

  • Experience using Hearsay Social, Spredfast, or other social media technology platforms a plus
