Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a SA Systems Specialist - Boca Raton, FL

Summary of Responsibilities:

Responsible to the Director, Technology Services, or appropriate administrator in Student Affairs. Responsible for managing one or more student affairs programs and formulating and recommending policies and procedures to effectively administer such programs. Collects and analyzes data as appropriate.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of technology used in the Student Health Services Department and other Health and Wellness departments.

  • Monitors and addresses technology work order submissions for health services

  • Serves as backup to Systems Administrator with respect to maintenance of health systems on VMWare and HyperV systems.

  • Assists Systems Administrator in performing upgrades on divisional servers as needed.

  • Communicates with end users and vendors to coordinate implementations and maintenance.

  • Assists with performing ongoing audits of hardware/software technical changes and recommends changes to the system environment.

  • Performs user administration using Active Director and Group Policy

  • Assists with performing ongoing audits of hardware/software technical changes and recommends changes to the system environment.

  • Performs user administrations using Active Director and Group Policy.

  • Assists with user audits of privileges on various systems.

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses software, desktop, and network problems of moderate to high complexity with divisional staff, university departmental groups, and vendors, taking appropriate action to resolve or escalate.

  • Performs administrative duties for technology systems and services supporting divisional operations.

  • Coordinates with members of the University’s Office for IT in making changes and updates to systems used by health entities.

  • Performs job duties outside normal business hours and responds to emergencies as needed.

  • Travels to various university campus locations as needed.

  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization. Knowledge of system and network principles (including VLANs, VDI, DHCP, network registration issues) is a plus.

Salary:

$50,000 - $55,000 per year
