We are seeking a Dry Etch Equipment Development Senior Manager/Director! Your primary responsibility is to guide area equipment owners in the development, installation and qualification of sophisticated fab tools to meet area roadmap needs, as well as provide sustaining and improvement efforts for equipment performance!

In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Safety

  • Identify and promptly report safety hazards

  • Follow safety procedures and area work rules including accurate PPE, lockout and chemical safety

  • Maintain safety certifications in WorkDay, and ensure your team maintains certifications

  • Support safety activities within the area and promote safety to your team

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Engage with Process Development teams and vendors to discuss roadmaps, new technology opportunities and CIP on existing tools.

  • Partner with Vendors, Facilities and support all required facilitation information for tool install is available on time.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with multiple customers.

  • Work closely with OCT in setting worldwide MOR/TOR configurations for your equipment.

  • Communicate regularly with HVM fabs to help tackle equipment issues in manufacturing.

Technical/Data Analysis:

  • Contribute technical solutions to gaps in area roadmaps.

  • Provide troubleshooting support for sophisticated problems and make data-based decisions.

  • Drive a model-based problem-solving environment within the team to ensure root causes are identified.

  • Serve as a key company authority for technical support of global equipment needs.

Project Management/Planning:

  • Serve as manager of equipment engineers, providing day-to-day project management and technical advice for your team.

  • Lead strategic and tactical aspects of equipment engineering, including tool evaluation and tool installs/de-installs (plans, resources and timelines).

  • Set the strategy for developing the development of next-generation Dry Etch tools within the ‘Equipment Maturity Index’ (EMI) framework.

  • Assign and reallocate resources as required based on equipment and part type needs (headcount, wafers, hardware, software, etc.).

  • Own the needs of multiple customers to set priorities.

Performance Management:

  • Collaborate with your team to build long/short-term goals and projects that meet the goals of the Technology Development department.

  • Meet regularly with team members to review performance, offer insights and build development plans using SuccessFactors.

  • Mentor team members on soft skills (presentation skills, risk management, decision making, vendor interaction, etc.) as well as technical skills.

  • Recognize and reward Micron team members for outstanding performance.

  • Recruit both external and internal candidates to fill headcount in the group.

  • Provide conflict resolution if issues arise.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years equipment development experience, or experience in a people leadership role at an R&D or HVM site.

  • In-depth knowledge of Dry Etch Capacitively Coupled Plasma (CCP) and/or Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) reactors is helpful.

  • Positive relationship building skills, both with internal and external customers

  • Structured problem-solving capabilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentation)

  • Experience in being a mentor to own the performance of team members is helpful

  • Ability to seek opportunities for continuous improvement, as a team member, leader and for the organization
