About The Role:

The purpose of this position is to support the Sustainability Team within CBRE’s Americas Consulting organization. This position will report directly to the team’s leader (Sustainability Solutions Lead). The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging directly with prospective clients to understand their needs, diagnose problems, and scope sustainability solutions to enable clients to plan and implement decarbonization pathways. Responsibilities include developing proposals, leading and executing projects for occupier and investor clients, and managing internal staff and matrixed team members on implementation and delivery.

Successful candidates will have proven experience implementing sustainability solutions across global real estate portfolios, including energy modeling, ASHRAE energy audits, building systems, and GHG protocol, and be able to simplify technical specifications of building energy systems to a broader audience. Familiarity with replacement costs and relative performance of various commercial energy efficiency measures, building electrification, and renewable energy solutions preferred.

Topics of consulting projects may include: decarbonization strategies, facility energy audits, overall sustainability and ESG strategy regulations and reporting frameworks, green leasing, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, circular economy, renewable energy, electric vehicles, investor ESG certifications (e.g., GRESB), among others.

What You'll Do:

•Engage directly with investor and occupier real estate clients to solution for their sustainability needs.

•Lead, write and help develop presentations and proposals on sustainability for occupier and investor clients.

•Support execution of project work and manage staff to deliver on projects.

•Provide QA/ QC review of project work including energy modeling, audits, net zero roadmap and other technical results delivery.

•Serve as a Sustainability subject matter expert for CBRE’s Americas Consulting team.

•Support training and education of CBRE professionals on the topic of sustainability.

•Directly support the team’s leader (Managing Director) to build overall sustainability consulting capabilities and services within the Americas Consulting team.

•Integrate CBRE initiatives, services, products, research and public commitments into cohesive solutions that enable clients to advance their real estate sustainability goals.

What You'll Need:

•Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.

•Masters degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related program.

•MBA or M.S. in Sustainability or equivalent preferred.

•Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or equivalent preferred.

•Minimum of 12 years of business consulting, sustainability and/or real estate experience is required. Preferred 12-15+ years of experience.

•Strong technical expertise in analysis related to building decarbonization and sustainability – this includes experience in conducting or overseeing staff doing building energy modeling, ASHRAE audits, or other related modeling or quantitative experience.

•Strong expertise in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and management – includes previous experience doing GHG inventory assessments across Scopes 1, 2 and 3;

•Ability to effectively and clearly present information from written energy reports and findings.

•Proven ability to lead consulting engagements, manage teams, and deliver high-impact solutions to clients.

•Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

•Strong technical expertise across various sustainability areas.

•Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for clients.

•Exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.

•Experience and ability to nimbly work in a fast-paced environment.

•Track record of driving results, and in delivering sustainability solutions to clients.

•Passion for developing and delivering groundbreaking sustainability strategies.

•Desire and ability to integrate CBRE initiatives, services, products, and research into cohesive solutions that allow clients to materially advance their sustainability goals.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $190,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $200,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program
