Location/Division Specific Information

We are a research, development, and production site in Bremen currently, with about 500 employees, whose “high-end” measurement and analysis instruments (mass spectrometers) are used in research and science worldwide. With annual revenues exceeding $800M and over 1000 employees worldwide, Life Sciences Mass Spectrometry (LSMS) offers customers a complete range of high-end analytical instruments and software services that support customers within proteomics, clinical research, forensic toxicology, pharmaceutical, biotech, food safety, and environmental market segments.

A Day in the Life:

  • Provide technical and application specific product support for released Bremen produced Life Science Mass Spectrometry products with emphasis on resolving application escalations using a system level approach.

  • Create and disseminate important factory and field information critical to product or field service problems, with efforts that support improvements in products and service, corrective action, or cost reductions.

  • Identify gaps in the current support systems and develop or improve and implement customer centric solutions for current and future products.

  • Work with the factory teams to ensure current products meet our high level of quality and that new products meet product design criteria for serviceability, specifications, and applications performance.

  • Develop and provide training programs for current and future products to the worldwide field service and support organization including clinical applications specific training as well as system level training for our Class I and Class II medical devices.

  • Develop, create documentation for existing and future products and maintain existing documentation following GDP (Good Documentation Practice)

  • Other miscellaneous duties might be assigned.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • MS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or a related field. PhD degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Experience

  • Several years of experience in developing applications and operating/maintaining Life Science Mass Spectrometer systems, particularly with Liquid Chromatography front end.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent analytical capability with strong attention to detail and knowledge about the most common workflows in Life Science Mass Spectrometry.

  • Outstanding problem-solving and interpersonal skills, especially when dealing with customers face-to-face.

  • Self-motivated and customer service-oriented, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support.

  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to new situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required for customer visits and training.
