Actalent Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Brooklyn, New York
Description:
This is a full-time, long-term position with full benefits and weekly direct deposit pay.
Qualifications:
1) NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or valid permit issued by NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to Technology
2) Blood Bank experience in clinical lab
3) Open to working overnight shift
ASCP certification is preferred but not required as long as they have the full New York State MLT license.
Job Duties:
This is a blood bank technologist position. We are looking for a candidate who have prior experience working in blood bank. The Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned. The Technologist will have an understanding of the principles of tests performed and working knowledge of the equipment used in the station which they are assigned. Specifically working in hematology responsible for urinalysis, coagulation and spinal counts.
Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage
Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results
Recognize critical or life-threatening results,, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician
Document all results in the LIS

Work Environment
Shift-Monday-Friday, 11pm-7am or 12am-8am
Rotating weekends
They will train on day shift 8am-4pm for first 2 months. rotating weekends do not start until month 3. Full work week is 37.5 hours.
