As a Chiller Connectivity Specialist, you will provide installation service and support for Carrier’s connectivity equipment for commercial HVAC. The primary focus of this role is to install and troubleshoot connectivity hardware kits for customers across a wide range of industries. The successful candidate will be customer-facing, possess strong technical expertise, be self-sufficient, and thrive in a fast-paced, autonomous work environment. This position requires an elevated level of travel and schedule flexibility to meet customer needs. This position will provide OTJ experience in plant and mechanical room settings. Aspiring commercial HVAC technicians are encouraged to apply and will qualify for 10 weeks of training at Carrier University within their first year of employment to develop service fundamentals and skills for light commercial and commercial products.

Key Responsibilities:

System Installation and Deployment: Execute the installation, setup, and configuration of connectivity kits at customer sites.

Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of the installation and integration processes of the specified systems. Provide guidance and expertise to customers and internal stakeholders regarding technical requirements, compatibility, and best practices.

Customer-Facing Role: Interact directly with customers to understand their specific installation requirements, address inquiries, and provide professional and timely customer service.

Site Assessment and Preparation: Conduct on-site assessments to evaluate the readiness of customer locations for system installation. Ensure that necessary power, connectivity, and infrastructure requirements are met prior to deployment.

Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve technical issues that may arise during the installation process, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical knowledge to ensure successful system implementation.

Training and Documentation: Provide training to customers on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the installed systems. Create and maintain accurate and detailed documentation, including installation guides, user manuals, and technical specifications.

Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate and coordinate with internal teams, such as, sales, field operations personnel to ensure smooth project execution.

Travel and Flexibility: Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs, including regular travel to customer sites for installation projects, sometimes requiring overnight stays.

Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices during the installation process, consistently delivering high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Continuous Learning and Industry Awareness: Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to enhance technical skills and knowledge to provide innovative installation services.

Demonstrates behavior that cultivates operational excellence by continually challenging old methods or ways of thinking and taking responsible risks to improve results.

Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Performs other duties/special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or Vocational HVAC training program or Certification or Technical Degree or HS Diploma or GED with 4+ years of work experience in HVAC, Electrical or technical field.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to operate company vehicles or rent vehicles

  • Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment more than 8 feet above grade

  • Must be able to lift items up to 50lbs without limitations or constraints

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 90% for first 12 months of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong computer and phone application skills using Microsoft Windows-based programs

  • 2+ years of experience customer facing in a technical environment.

  • Self-starter and motivated to perform effectively during times of high demand

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently

  • Exceptional customer service, internal and external facing communication skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, demonstrating a high level of initiative

  • Flexibility to travel extensively, sometimes on short notice, and work at various customer sites

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with schedule flexibility catering to customer needs

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects at once
