Wells Fargo Head of Capabilities & Data Science - Corporate & Investment Bank in CHARLOTTE, North Carolina

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Head of Capabilities & Data Science within our Corporate & Investment Bank. The Capabilities & Data Science Lead will work to lead the development and deployment of advanced data science tools and solutions across the CIB including AI/ML, automation, and other advanced capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and deployment of advanced data science tools and capabilities across the investment bank.

  • Actively identify and evaluate new data technologies, including third-party solutions, for potential integration into the bank's data ecosystem.

  • Collaborate closely with innovation leadership in CIB and the enterprise centers of excellence driving AI/ML and automation within the firm to ensure cohesive and strategic implementation of new technologies.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of data tool development, from conceptualization to deployment, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.

  • Identify and execute on small to medium size projects to prove out capabilities prior to extending investment

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in the use of data technologies within the bank.

  • Develop strategic partnerships with external vendors and technology providers to enhance the bank's data capabilities.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the data tools and capabilities team, setting clear objectives and KPIs.

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 8+ years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 4+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in data science and in developing and managing data tools and technologies within a financial or investment banking environment.

  • Strong understanding of modern data technologies including AI/ML and their application in data management and analytics.

  • Experience with integrating third-party data management and analytics products.

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with various teams, from the desk to the enterprise level.

  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of inspiring and guiding teams towards achieving strategic goals.

Pay Range

$144,400.00 - $300,000.00
