Operations Manager – UK

Aon are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our team which is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our London office. The Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for providing oversight and supporting the operational performance and processes of the Commercial Risk London business units.

What the day will look like

  • Assisting in the monthly operational governance process, and produce output suitable for inclusion

  • Escalation, tracking and completion of actions raised in audit and assurance work

  • Ensuring policies and FCA requirements are adhered to, such as E&O management, Business Continuity Plans, File Reviews,

  • Understanding, oversee and support the client teams with credit control

  • Assisting in the delivery of successful operational and business related change projects as needed

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver ABS initiatives

  • Assisting with change management and process improvements

  • Working with outsourcing partners to deliver business results

  • Identifying and implementing of key change projects that improves operational efficiency or regulatory adherence, including project management, and other ad-hoc support as required

  • Responsible for working in accordance with the AON UK Limited Risk Management Framework and compliance with the AON UK Limited policies including participation in the management of risks (including the completion of mandatory training) that may adversely impact the business interests or reputation of the Group Company

  • Managing Key Stakeholders and developing relationships with business colleagues

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Enthusiastic teammate with strong relationship and empathy building skills, who is capable of selling reasons for change / plans to a diverse range of relationships

  • Strong understanding of and experience of change management principles and approaches

  • Excellent analytical, numerical and information gathering skills. Determines pertinent information required by management to make effective decisions. Ensures that the gathering, processing, distribution and use of this information occur in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner

  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate well across organisational levels, including well-developed influencing skills

  • Good understanding of the Insurance Industry

  • Strong track record in change management and operational improvement or process re-engineering, including working with offshore establishments

  • Experience of introducing sophisticated systems and new working practices into a business on time and on budget

  • Uses client, financial and operational data to direct resources – making resource allowance decisions to maximise effectiveness

  • Focuses on initiatives that drive continuous improvement in margin

  • Demonstrate flexibility of thought to the extent that plans can be adjusted as performance dictates
