We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Manager, Social Media (Hybrid) on our Scientific Publication team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

As a Manager, Social Media (Hybrid), you will provide day-to-day planning, management, and measurement of social media marketing efforts for JAMA and the JAMA Network, with an emphasis on engagement optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead day-to-day JAMA and JAMA Network social media marketing

  • Monitor and promote content publishing across the JAMA Network (13 journal titles including JAMA, the flagship journal) and ensure that content is highlighted based on newsworthiness and strategic impact.

  • Partner with Multimedia team to effectively promote MM content (videos, podcasts, and video shorts), developing amplification campaigns when necessary.

  • Monitor and assist with management of brand risks that surface via social media listening.

  • Recommend efficiencies in social media processes, systems, and workflow.

    Implement and monitor social media campaigns

  • Serve as lead point of contact for editorial initiatives that require specialized social media campaigns, e.g., new fellowships and new editorial initiatives.

  • Review, schedule, and distribute content through social media channels for publication.

    Identify opportunities to increase effectiveness of social content

  • Monitor social media channels and make suggestions for resurfacing evergreen content based on trending subjects.

  • Work with Account Manager at Sprinklr for new ways to use Sprinklr capabilities.

  • Work with the Director, Communications & Engagement, on paid social media, including boosting and paid campaigns.

  • Stay current with new and emerging content platforms.

    Monitor and distribute social media analytics

  • Define measures of success through KPIs

  • Monitor social media analytics for performance of these KPIs, refining strategy as necessary.

  • Build reports to share with Communications team and JAMA Network stakeholders (senior staff and JN EICs)

    May include other responsibilities as assigned

    REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related discipline required.

    2. 5+ years’ progressive experience with social media platforms.

    3. In-depth understanding of social media platforms, with a focus on Sprinklr and TikTok

    4. Demonstrated ability to achieve content and product marketing and communications goals.

    5. Analytic and problem-solving capability, including managing and prioritizing multiple complex tasks.

    6. Experience with using web analytics (Tableau, Google Analytics.)

    7. Ability to collaborate with marketing colleagues and across functions.

    8. Experience in content and product marketing development and execution.

    9. Familiarity with scientific research and publishing desired.

    10. Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas concisely and influence stakeholders.
