Key Responsibilities:

The purpose of the Senior Manager IT, DevOps, and System Reliability is to facilitate collaboration between development (Dev) and operations (Ops) teams to streamline the software development and deployment process. This role also involves in overseeing the strategic direction, technical operations, and reliability of software systems and infrastructure. This position will have a strong focus on Java programming skills, AWS Cloud expertise, Agile development, and organizational change management with the ability to influence innovation through leadership

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and communicate a comprehensive DevOps and SRE strategy aligned with the organization's goals and business objectives.

  • Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, SREs, and other technical staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align technical initiatives with business priorities.

Technical Operations and Infrastructure:

  • Oversee the design, provisioning, and management of cloud infrastructure, containers, and other technologies needed for application deployment and scaling.

  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of applications by implementing standard processes for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.

  • Lead efforts to automate manual tasks and streamline operations using infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools.

System Reliability:

  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure that reliability considerations are integrated into the software development lifecycle.

  • Implement post-incident reviews and drive improvements based on lessons learned.

Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD):

  • Drive the implementation and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, tests, and deployments.

  • Work with development teams to integrate automated testing and code review processes to ensure code quality and reliability.

Performance Optimization:

  • Lead efforts to monitor and optimize system performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, latency issues, and other performance-related challenges.

  • Implement load testing, stress testing, and capacity planning to ensure systems can handle expected user loads.

Security and Compliance:

  • Collaborate with security teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps and SRE processes, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.

  • Implement security measures such as access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.

Incident Management and Response:

  • Define and implement incident response processes, including escalation paths, communication plans, and post-incident analysis.

  • Lead incident response efforts, ensuring rapid resolution and minimizing the impact on users and business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 7+ years of related experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Enterprise DevOps technologies (Active Directory, NAT, Firewall, Windows/Linux update management, Software Deployment, Computer Cloning/Imaging, IP KVM, NAS, AWS)

  • 5+ years of experience in dealing with different vendors with both hardware and software

  • 3+ years of technical lead experience or background in DevOps or equivalent experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
