Our Opportunity:

Optionsxpress Quality Assurance team provides testing in support of web, desktop and mobile-based applications. OX QA is responsible for test estimates, test strategies, test plans and scripts, functional and regression testing for numerous applications. OX QA team is looking for a mid-level QA position to fulfill testing needs of in house and integration projects.

What you’ll do:

The QA Engineer role requires the individual to be effective in participating at program, project and product related levels. The QA Engineer would participate in technical governance and would help negotiate overall product quality standards with development and business teams. The QA Engineer will be defining and executing both the project and release level Test Strategies, Test Plans and Test Cases/Scripts which span across multiple, internal QA Product Teams. The QA Engineer would also need to coordinate test execution with external vendors, as applicable. The QA Engineer is accountable for project/product based testing efforts across multiple applications (including End to End Test efforts). The QA Engineer will act as the escalation point for all testing related issues, provide the QA perspective, status reporting and escalate issues to responsible stakeholders, as well as insure standard, and consistent, QA processes are followed.

The QA Engineer will work with Product Teams, Product Owners and Scrum Masters to compose and manage integrated project plans, testing schedules, metrics and provide project and release status updates. The role also requires coordinating with team members for testing activities, participating in Requirements Ambiguity, & Use Case / User Story Reviews, and conduct QA analysis & test support activities. The individual will work cross-organizationally both within Schwab and with external vendors, both on and offshore to define environment requirements, identify QA-related tools, develop and execute QA process and testing best practices.

What you have:

  • 5+ years in Quality Assurance

  • 3+ years’ experience in delivery of highly complex projects

  • Proven experience with web, desktop and backend applications

  • Proven experience with black box and white box testing techniques and tools required

  • Proven ability of working on multiple projects and releases, balancing time and effort for successful delivery

  • Experience working with resources in different geographical locations and offshore vendors

  • Good SQL skills

  • Financial/Trading services industry experience
