You will develop and implement accounting practices and procedures and interpret and provide data from accounting records. You will also coordinate accounting services and integrate them with operating needs. In addition, you will support the global management of key processes like fixed assets, leases, intercompany cross charges, new accounting rules, restructuring programs, and accounting for joint ventures, among others.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Responsibility for accounting practices and procedures globally under the guidance of the VP, Corporate Accounting Global. In this role, you will also lead the global management of such accounting processes as fixed assets, debt, stock compensation, pension, derivatives, goodwill and intangibles, implementation of new accounting rules, among other areas.

  • Responsibility for research and timely resolution of questions that arise globally in accounting and external reporting.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of monthly and quarterly entries in areas of responsibility

  • Responsible for quarterly and annual footnote review within areas of responsibility.

  • Drive a strong controls and compliance environment across your areas of responsibility.

  • Responsible for the update and maintenance of the accounting and external reporting policies

  • Provide accounting policy training to the global accounting and finance team

  • Harmonize and improve ways of working on Accounting and External Reporting (‘AER’) processes and systems such as SAP, SLAN and FIT/HFM reporting tools and build a mindset of continuous improvement within the team.

  • Build a high-performing Accounting and External Reporting (AER) team (Mondelēz International Business Services and third-party providers). You will also recruit and develop AER talent and drive the Mondelēz International AER talent agenda globally.

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in:

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting (AER) including a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, close processes and financial reporting systems. General knowledge in complex technical accounting such as treatment of FX, derivatives, employee compensation and pension plans. Expertise in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX reporting. General knowledge of tax laws and indirect and direct tax.

  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance beyond the AER scope. Big Four accounting firm experience preferred.

  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering and communication skills across a large global, public company. Experience working as a global finance leader managing global, cross-functional and business partner teams to drive timely and accurate results. Experience with people management and people development.

  • GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with Mondelēz International values and policies and external regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required, Master’s Degree preferred and CPA preferred

  • Minimum of 11 or more years of experience in Accounting roles

  • Big 4 Accounting Firm or comparable experience within industry preferred

  • Experience working in a large multinational company is ideal

  • Previous management experience is required

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Experience with complex technical accounting and external reporting

  • Extremely systems savvy with exceptional Excel skills
