MAG CSLA Sr. Database Administrator in Cochise, Arizona

Position Summary

The Senior Database Administration/Programmer will support the EKMS Common Tier 1 System (CT1S) for the EKMS Lead Service that supports six other sites with troubleshooting and guidance on database problems. Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of the Tier 1 and ancillary database in support of the Tier 1 operations.

MAG Aerospace is the current incumbent on the U.S. Army’s Communications Security Logistics Activity (CSLA) operation in Fort Huachuca, AZ. which provides support to specific Communications Security (COMSEC) and Information Assurance (IA) elements of the contract.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Ensures appropriate linkages to existing databases and data processing systems.

  • Ensures adequate security and recovery procedures are included in all data base designs.

  • Directs the training of user groups in the protocols involved in updating and accessing the database.

  • Monitors database transactions to ensure correct usage of the database.

  • Provides technical expertise on the database system to user and data processing personnel.

  • Oversee the development of operational contingency plans for the recovery of existing and emerging databases in case of catastrophic failure at any of the six EKMS Tier 1 sites.

  • Assist in the restoration of the EKMS Tier 1 in the event of outage, up to and including after-hours support as required.

  • Upon request of the Government Lead, provide input to NSA KMI Capability Increment 3 (CI-3) planning efforts.

  • Assist government personnel in identifying any technical gaps or current challenges with EKMS Tier 1/KMI infrastructure operations that could be addressed by the CI-3 development.

  • Provide technical assistance to resolve complex database issues at Army, Air Force, and Navy COMSEC accounts and support CT1 System operators in identifying and resolving data discrepancies. Assist in resolution of highly complicated issues.

  • Identify, report, and resolve discrepancies in the operations of EKMS software components for the multi-service Tier 1 System Management Board (TSMB).

  • Provide technical input to the TSMB, as requested. Identify and make modifications to EKMS Tier 1 automation programs as required by the Tier 1 System Management Board.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Seven years of relevant experience

  • Must have 4 years’ experience in current DBMS technologies, application design utilizing various DBMS, and experience with DBMS internals.

Education / Certifications

  • CompTia Security+ CE or other IAT Level II certification.

  • Relevant Computing Environment Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree OR In Lieu of a degree, the applicant must prove 7 years total of direct experience in DBMS technologies, application design utilizing various DBMS, and experience with DBMS internals.

Clearance:

  • Secret with the ability to obtain Top Secret.

Other Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.
