Jacobs is seeking a Hardware Engineer to support the NISSC II contract. Your career at Jacobs enables NORAD/NORTHCOM to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at all NISSC II sites.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer missions to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD/NORTHCOM in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.

A Hardware Engineer Integrator is responsible for developing strategic procedures and upgrades, improving network infrastructures, and managing hardware systems configurations. The Hardware Engineer Integrator analyzes the hardware operations and its efficiency to support mission-capable functions and deliverables. They also maintain the safety and security of the networks and hardware system infrastructure ensuring its accuracy and smooth navigation for operational use, especially preventing unauthorized access and the systems operates in a predictive manner. A Hardware Engineer Integrator must have excellent knowledge of the technology industry and the latest trends, as well as a strong command of programming rack drawings and material ordering.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Required Skills:

  • Clearance requirement: Top Secret\SCI eligibility

  • Must be DoD 8570 compliant with at least a CompTia Security certification

  • Must have at least 1 year of directly related experience in hardware engineering

  • Experience with install/provision/troubleshoot complex enterprise hardware systems, from racking, stacking, and cabling

  • Experience with different computer system vendors like Dell, Hp, Levono, Cisco

  • Experience with complete documentation, drawings, and instructions for customers

  • Experience working on all Microsoft office suite products and Visio.

  • Experience with managing inventory stock and read material orders (MO)

  • Experience handling a broad range of servers, desktops, cabling, power, and network devices.

Desired Skills:

  • System and Network Administrators, Tech Controllers, or Data-Center personnel with previous experience installing, repairing or maintain IT equipment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Significant relevant experience in supporting the sustainment of NISSC mission systems/subsystems.

  • Experience with other relevant missions surrounding the NORAD Northcom, Air and Space missile and legacy Space.

  • Experience working in scaled agile environment frameworks such as SAFe.

  • Be able to read and manage power consumptions.

  • Experience with installation of data-centers, server rooms and/or office environments of computer hardware is being stored at.

  • AutoCad

Physical Requirements:

  • May require climbing, working at heights and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets and server racks

  • Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time, work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions

  • May require lifting and carrying boxes of materials or equipment up to 50 lbs

This position is expected to pay $70,000-$80,000 annually; this depends on experience, education, and any certifications directly related to the position.

Work Environment

  • Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low

to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).

Equipment and Machines

  • General office equipment, which includes: telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office

equipment.

  • Servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that supports the network environment.

  • Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.

  • May require operating motor vehicles.

Attendance

  • Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is mandatory.

  • Position requires 25% travel. Travel can include travel to California, Nebraska, and locally between bases, Cheyenne mountain, and the downtown office.

Other Essential Functions

  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintaining required certifications throughout the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.

  • Candidate must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity

in the workplace. Must be well organized and coordinate, prioritize and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to work effectively with various government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels.

  • Candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Grooming and dress are usually business casual but dependent on the client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
