Counter Salesperson Plumbing knowledge preferred

Job purpose

Increase sales and customer satisfaction by assisting walk-in and telephone customers in the selection of needed products, by applying technical knowledge to satisfy customer needs   Duties and responsibilities ·       Professionally greet customers. Build working relationships with vendors and internal customers...do this by providing customer service, being kind and courteous, maintaining interpersonal relations, having a positive attitude and pleasant telephone etiquette ·       Handle difficulties with with diplomacy - seek assistance if needed ·       Promote branch and companywide promotions and specials ·       Enter orders accurately and follow-up on special requests ·       Process customer returns, including required paperwork, execute prompt and effective resolutions to customer issues ·       Evaluate and process warranty claims using company and/or manufacturer warranty policies ·       Select correct products from stock to sell ·       Assist outside sales team ·       Receive payment or obtain credit information ·       Clean and maintain the counter area and displays of product in an attractive manner ·       Restock displays of merchandise ·       Assist and resolve customer complaints ·       Keep updated on new product information and upcoming product promotions ·       Determine product required by customer and suggest alternative and/or additional products related to customer's order ·       Adhere to all OSHA guidelines and NSI safety and company policies ·       Ability to operate forklift and order pickers ·       All other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education: Sales - Customer Focus - Navigating within the Organization - Contributing to team success - Wholesale distribution, product and application knowledge preferred - Must be able to lift 75 lbs - Valid Pennsylvania driver's license - Forklift certification
