Job Description

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Detroit location three times per week, at minimum.

We are looking for a high-performing Executive Recruitment Partner who shares GM’s drive for excellence and our passion for extraordinary customer care and relationship building. This role is critical to GM’s mission to have the best leaders in the world. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of project management proficiency, critical thinking ability, and effective organizational skills to develop and execute sound recruiting strategies. Expert judgment, grace under pressure, and personal resilience are important qualities for success in this valuable role as you will be accountable to attract, source and interview executive talent as well as support a great onboarding experience.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Partner and actively build collaborative relationships with hiring leaders to understand hiring needs and strategic objectives, as well as candidates’ level of experience and desired characteristics or competencies.

  • Work with assigned functional area’s Human Resource professionals and hiring leaders to develop desired recruiting strategies, source and screen qualified internal and external candidates, and professionally support the onboarding of new executives.

  • Assist hiring leaders in developing appropriate job descriptions that will attract a well-defined, diverse candidate pool of executives.

  • Communicate with HR and hiring leaders on candidate and new employee needs throughout the interviewing and onboarding process.

  • Provide “white glove service” during the recruitment process, prioritizing a high-touch level of communication to enable an outstanding candidate experience.

  • Lead the candidate highlighting process for GM (Facilitate discussions with GM leaders and potential candidates in the market).

  • Be an early in role leadership success coach.

  • Conduct Executive assessments using the GM process and support the establishment of typical interview standards for executives.

  • Manage the CRM system talent community for senior talent.

Additional Job Description

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • 10+ years of professional corporate experience, ideally combining roles of ascending responsibility in multinational companies.

  • 6+ years of professional experience in Executive Search, preferably within leading executive search firms or relevant experience in inhouse executive recruitment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Psychology, or any adjacent disciplines.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with potential internal and external executive talent pools.

  • Sound understanding of leadership competencies frameworks and competency-based interview methodologies.

  • Ability to command and build respect and trust at all levels of the organization.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate and work effectively in a global environment, communicating effectively with managers, peers and other stakeholders.

  • Fluency in English

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

  • Experience working in a consulting environment and/or an in-house executive recruitment role where multiple projects and competing demands are the norm.

  • MBA or Master’s degree

  • Proficiency in other languages
