The role

This is a key role for a talented and innovative Scrum Master with the drive to help transform our Training Design Service (TDS). This person will enable the business to deliver learning that is blended, active and provides customer delight.

In this role there is great scope to make a significant and tangible impact to Royal Navy Training Design Services. Working in a dynamic business this role demands collaboration across a range of stakeholders, our ideal candidate will have led and operated in a commercially focused Agile learning partnership, working at the strategic and operational level. They will manage and oversee the Courseware and Media development teams in the production and maintenance of all relevant training design documentation including FTS, TPS, TOs, WTS, RTGS, LSpecs and AStrat and all media requirements for course delivery.

This role will enable all teams to create relevant L&D interventions. Although this position will be working in a military environment, the right candidate does not need a military background.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams and various stakeholders, including customers, end users, courseware and media development teams, and user enablement

  • Facilitate key Scrum events and regular team health checks

  • Promote, encourage, and embed SAFe Agile principles within the team and organisation

  • Bring SAFe Agile resistors along the journey towards true Agility and embrace their feedback

  • Ensure value-driven delivery, defining value within your team’s context and coaching them in how to break work down to achieve the most value

  • Ruthlessly tackle impediments - thinking outside the box welcomed

  • Help teams to mature in their SAFe Agile practices

  • Foster a safe space for the team to experiment, celebrate success and failure, be candid, and to fail fast

  • Empower the team to problem solve

  • Support negotiation and conflict resolution

  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships across teams and organisations

  • Support the Product Owner in prioritisation, backlog grooming, product goals and vision

  • Facilitate collaboration in remote working teams through technology and innovation and occasional face to face workshops

Candidate Requirements:

  • People first mindset

  • Knowledge and demonstrable application of SAFe Agile fundamentals

  • Someone keen to learn, collaborate, and share best practices across the business and customers through our active Communities of Practices

  • Appreciation of latest L&D Interventions and desire to explore training development models

  • Ability to effectively manage stakeholders and build relationships

  • Passionate about embracing and encouraging continuous improvement and innovation

  • Current holder or eligible to attain the required SC level of security clearance. (Raytheon will sponsor)

Work Culture
