Universal Engineering Sciences Geotechnical Project Coordinator in Houston, Texas

The Geotechnical Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing geotechnical projects from initiation to completion. The project coordinator will coordinate, prepare reports, manage budgets and schedules, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide technical support. The job requires extended periods of time working on the computer with various software systems related to geotechnical reporting. This job operates in a professional office environment. Some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift 5-10lbs boxes and bend or stand as necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate with clients, drilling manager, engineers, and subcontractors regarding scheduling and project updates.

  • Responsible for adding new projects into Labsys and creating project folder.

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders regularly.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

  • Submit and coordinate with one-call system (underground utility assessment).

  • Prepare boring hole drawings for the drilling crew and ensure that underground utility assessment has been scheduled and performed and results communicated.

  • Draft boring locations on Google Earth, maps, and drawings.

  • Prepare and assemble data, maps, drawings, KMZ files for Geotechnical reports.

  • Prepare and organize report appendices.

  • Update field boring logs in Labsys.

  • Ensure that all reports and data are filed in project files.

  • Other duties as assigned by drilling manager and geotechnical engineers.

  • Assist with data entry into gINT and excel data template.

  • Update master Google file with completed project locations.

  • Coordinate training classes, background checks, and security badges for field technicians.

Skill Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software.

  • Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness with project results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 2-3 years of Project Coordinator or administrative experience preferred.
