Heres the deal: Were on the hunt for an enthusiastic, customer-focused, go-getter to join our Business Installation team. As an Installation Technician, youll be the face of ALLO. Youre not just showing them the benefits of an all fiber-optic internet, TV, and phone connection; youre giving them their first view of the ALLO difference, highlighting our commitment to our customers and their experience. Knowledge and experience in telecommunications, networking, or engineering is essential. While a background in fiber optics is definitely a plus, were all about character. We are currently hiring for positions in Lincoln, Ashland, Seward, and Milford. Some travel between these markets may be required - using an ALLO vehicle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform installation and repair of business and consumer fiber internet, TV and phone services.

  • Run cable throughout business if requested on the work order or requested by the customer.

  • Connect fiber to MST and ONT when needed.

  • Provide education to customer on products and services.

  • Cross training to other functions as needed.

  • Ability to accept periodic assignments that involve travel away from immediate home office area based on client needs, business needs and project scope.

  • Maintain inventory on common items on company vehicle for daily tasks.

  • Maintain company tools and equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Associates degree or 2-4 years equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years Telecommunications experience.

  • 1+ years performing installations in a business environment.

  • A networking background is a plus, but not required.

  • Experience testing and terminating Cat 5 and Cat 6 wiring.

Heres what our ideal candidate brings to the team:

  • Being a team player.

  • Clean and neat appearance.

  • A clean driving record and be able to pass drug screen

  • A working knowledge of telecommunications color code, SIP/PRI, and Hosted IP PBX communications but not necessary.

  • A general knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems and email clients.

  • An understanding of the basics of network routing protocols.

  • The ability to troubleshoot and work through problems in a logical manner.

  • An understanding of email clients and how to configure them.

  • Wire fishing and pulling skills.

  • Ability to climb ladders and work in tight spaces.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to interact and communicate with customers.

  • Ability to work with hand tools.

  • Bi-lingual is a plus.

  • Ability to be flexible on tasks assigned.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, occasionally being on call to serve customer needs.

  • Safe handling of all products and maintaining company issued equipment/tools.

  • Ability to maintain accurate paperwork (time sheets, change orders, delivery tickets).

  • Ability to travel outside of the home office area for extended periods of time based on project and business need.

  • You are technically curious and think outside of the box to get the job done.
