Our Opportunity:

The Benefits Department provides employees access to benefit plans and programs that support ownership of their health and well-being.

This role will provide exposure to all aspects of benefit plan administration and operations in an environment where very few tasks are outsourced or performed by consultants or brokers. You will have a wide range of hands on opportunities to participate in the management of plan activities including: RFPs, contract negotiations, implementations, administration, operations, problem resolution, escalation research and resolution, system testing, funding and accounting, projects, and annual events like benefits open enrollment.

This role is an individual contributor and will report to the Managing Director of the Benefits Department.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage plans like COBRA and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts

  • Manage administration of Health Savings Accounts and 401(k)

  • Benefits billing (processing invoices from our Benefit Plan Vendors). Research and respond to billing discrepancy reports and inquiries.

  • Benefits Funding (preparing wires and uploads to fund employee elections after payroll is completed).

  • Tracking and reporting on benefit expenses.

  • Reconcile and research Health Savings Account funding adjustments.

  • Respond to employee, vendor, and employee call center escalations and questions for all benefit plans.

  • Validation of weekly integration files sent to Benefit Plan Vendors. Follow up on issues with Benefit Plan Vendors and internal HRIS group.

  • Manage annual Open Enrollment Benefit Fairs at major locations.

  • Coordinate the review and update of the internal website describing benefit plans and programs.

  • Assist Benefits Team in preparing for Annual Open Enrollment for COBRA and Active employees.

  • Opportunity to learn and participate in strategic projects.

  • Provide support for audits.

  • Additional ad-hoc processes and projects.

What you have:

  • 3+ years of specific benefit plan experience working on a variety of benefit programs including - medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, wellness, employee assistance programs, flexible spending plans, and health savings accounts.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, management, or other relevant discipline is preferred – equivalent work experience will be considered.

  • Experience with key benefits administration and operational tasks like Benefits billing, invoice processing, and wire transfers.

  • Experience in completing 401(k) Plan day-to-day operations including the processing and review of eligibility files, loans, salary deferrals and employee escalations and responding to record-keeper inquiries.

  • Functional and technical knowledge of Benefit plans and programs.

  • HR Systems knowledge and experience. Experience with Workday a plus.

  • Execute high quality work on time.

  • Fast learner -- enjoys learning new processes and identifying opportunities to streamline and improve existing practices.

  • The ability to work on various projects simultaneously keeping them on-track and providing clear status updates to management.

  • Ability to work in a lean, high volume, fast-paced, deadline oriented environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to identify the root cause of an issue and suggest approach to resolve to management.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

  • Adapts and thrives in a fast paced, service-focused environment.

  • Draft succinct easy to understand emails.
