Our Opportunity:

Corporate Vendor Management (VM) at Charles Schwab & Co. is responsible for implementing a firm-wide, end-to-end vendor relationship management process to maximize vendor performance and value. Corporate VM identifies, mitigates, monitors, and manages vendor risk; and assists Schwab in meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.

The Buyer will be responsible for managing a designated commodity and ensuring purchasing activities are consistent with Schwab’s policies. This is an individual contributor role.

What you’ll do:

  • Validate contractual documentation as it supports the procurement processes

  • Ensure Purchase Requisition (PR) activities are accurate and consistent with Schwab policies

  • Award Purchase Orders (PO) to Vendors upon purchase requisition approval

  • Support Schwab Business Owners on various ad hoc requests (Ariba training, PO spend management, PR status follow-up, advising on Corporate Vendor Management and Schwab’s processes and policies)

  • Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve invoicing discrepancies and matching exceptions

  • Partner with Vendor Sourcing Managers to ensure compliance with Master Agreements, Work Orders and Scope of Work as they are issued

  • Resolve and escalate as needed, issues with internal clients concerning discrepancies in price, terms, or returns

  • Build strong working relationships with Business Partners and become an expert within assign commodity which is managed

What you have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in procurement, P2P process, contract management and internal controls, in a regulated industry preferred

  • Adaptable to change and understanding how it will impact the team and internal Business Partners

  • Ability to work multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

  • Skilled in building effective working relationships

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in understanding various contracts and contractual language strongly desired

  • Procurement catalog knowledge a plus

  • Microsoft Office knowledge required

  • Experience with Ariba, Hiperos, PeopleSoft a plus

  • Knowledge of P2P process is strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Capability to provide excellent customer service
