Our Opportunity:

The Snr. SQL Data Analyst will be a key part of our team, working with technical and business teams to deploy quality code within our financial analysis portfolio of applications. Within our transaction monitoring platforms, we need a strong technical leader to ensure we are driving best practices, new technology and approaches to delivering value with more velocity and quality. This role will have a collaborative and hands on approach to contributing new code to our monitoring platforms. Within our case management and reporting platforms, this position will drive new technology, process and data quality architectures, working closely with our development team to transform our approach to data and integrations across applications.

What you’ll do:

  • Utilize Oracle (PL SQL) and Microsoft (MS SQL) and technologies to architect and develop data transformation and manipulations systems.

  • Understand, plan and transform data models and application capabilities, working with development teams to drive effective and efficient changes

  • Mentor BSA and Development staff to improve team knowledge, quality, capacity and throughput. Perform code review and drive continual improvement

  • Research and investigate data discrepancies and provide data validation reports and understand system processes

  • Support our agile project work working with business and technical teams to define roadmaps, manage backlog, prioritize and ensure accountability within the portfolio

  • Build complex SQL queries, and other data analysis techniques to create or improve the alerts produced by the monitoring system

  • Learn implementation and configuration options for the vendor solution in detail, including the steps involved in applying and testing changes

  • Analyze requirements, recommended design approaches and solution options

  • Perform rigorous testing to assess the quality and accuracy of data in the system, support ideas and methodologies to ensure data quality

  • Identify opportunities to improve our use of data in testing and environment automation

  • Support User Acceptance Testing and coordinate issue analysis / resolution

What you have:

  • BA/BS or higher degree, preferably in an analytical or technical discipline

  • Excellent skills with PL/SQL and Oracle Server Application Development. Exposure and experience with T-SQL a plus

  • 7+ years of related experience, with a focus on data integration, reporting, and analysis

  • Adept at translating business requirements into technical specifications

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with the financial services domain or a strong desire to learn about the industry

  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, prioritization, organization, and decision-making skills

  • Experience performing quantitative analysis for risk assessments a plus

  • Experience working with big data technologies a plus
