Our Opportunity:

Charles Schwab Insurance Services (CSIS) is accountable for meeting the insurance needs of our more than 6 million individual investor clients and 7,000+ RIAs with responsibilities including product management/development, direct sales, sales support and oversight. CSIS works closely with all Schwab client enterprises to support product distribution and manages all insurance company partners/vendors associated with the business.

What you’ll do:

The Sr. Manager - Strategy will be responsible for developing and facilitating the execution of a strategic plan designed to maximize field adoption of annuity solutions and support the evolution of the annuity business at Schwab. Success will be measured by FC engagement/product usage, sales, Net New Assets (NNA) and event metrics. This strategy will focus on identifying opportunities, defining priorities, and coordinating efforts across all Schwab business units to support the efficient execution of the plan. The Sr. Manager - Strategy will need to work closely with CSIS management to coordinate efforts across the unit to develop processes and procedures aimed at creating efficiencies across the business to maximize utilization of limited resources.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Design a comprehensive field strategy and sales support plan designed to elevate FC capabilities, raise awareness, enhance field engagement, and accelerate NNA growth. Plan components may include:

  • Evaluation of CSIS service model to best support field needs

  • Developing partnership opportunities with Schwab teams and resources

  • Coordinating with insurance carrier partner participation in sales support activities

  • Exploration and design of client prospecting tools based on sales analytics to help support FC’s in finding annuity opportunities

  • Partner with CSIS internal groups (Sales, Administration-Platform Services, and Product) to identify and coordinate all sales support, product initiatives, and platform enhancements to the Field:

  • Solicit and understand field ideas and suggestions

  • Evaluate integration opportunities in terms of investment, risk and reward

  • Work closely with Director of Sales to support targeted initiatives and campaigns such as regional training and education.

  • Represent annuities in firm-wide initiatives related to income solutions/planning, retirement, etc.

  • Provide end to end support for FC and client events.

  • Serve as the point person and resource in the product group for field to help facilitate successful events

  • Supplement sales team business development activities including participating at events, training and industry events.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Minimum 3 years-experience in a business strategy role.

  • Statistical and analytical experience.

  • Series 6 and 63 (or 65/66), licenses required. 7, 9/10, 24 may be a condition of employment.

  • CFA/CFP desired.

  • Strong knowledge of annuity features and benefits.

  • Extensive knowledge of current regulatory requirements and state laws related to insurance products, in particular annuities is required.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced expertise of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • General working knowledge of Salesforce and Tableau.
