Our Opportunity:

Fixed Income is a strategic priority for Schwab. With over $200 billion in Fixed Income assets, an industry leading product platform and a large team of sales & service professionals, the Fixed Income team plays an important role by serving the needs of a valuable client segment and helping drive asset growth for both our Advisor and Retail channels. Within Fixed Income, the Product Management team works in close collaboration with a wide range of business units to define our strategy, strengthen our product offering, drive messaging, and support our sales and service efforts.

What you’ll do:

You will help build and enhance all aspects of our fixed income business while serving as our primary point of contact with our Advisor Bond Specialist team. Reporting to the head of the Fixed Income Product Management team, you’ll work closely with Fixed Income’s Sales & Service leadership and partners from across the business to refine our strategy, improve our product offer, and support our sales and service efforts.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting client research and competitive analyses to develop a deep understanding of our strengths, weaknesses and opportunities across the breadth of our offer (product, pricing, online, marketing, sales support & strategy)

  • Developing, socializing and gaining buy-in for recommendations that will improve the client experience, our competitive positioning and business results

  • Leading project implementation efforts from conception through implementation

  • Refining our message and partnering with marketing professionals to create, maintain and deliver marketing campaigns and materials

  • Partnering with sales & service managers to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our field outreach efforts

  • Improving metrics and reporting to monitor our progress and identify areas for improvement

This role requires a unique blend of strategic insight and practical implementation. Working closely with leaders from throughout the business, it offers the potential to have a tremendous impact on our growth and become a leader throughout the Fixed Income team.

What you have:

Candidates for the role should be self-starters with a well-rounded skills set including strong analytical problem solving and strategic thinking capabilities. Fixed income experience is not required - the ideal candidate will have a background in financial services and business strategy as well as a desire and ability to learn fixed income products and markets.

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA is a plus

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience, with a preference for product management and business strategy experience. Financial services experience is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively cross functionally

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly analyze data and synthesize research to identify key insights and apply them to the business

  • Strong orientation to clients, including ability to understand needs and apply this knowledge to product enhancements, online user experience, and communication content (internal and external)

  • Series 7 required or obtained under a condition of employment
