Charles Schwab Insurance Services (CSIS) is accountable for meeting the insurance needs of our more than 6 million individual investor clients and the 7,000+ RIAs we serve. With responsibility for product management and development, direct sales and sales support, and oversight, CSIS works closely with all Schwab Client Enterprises to support product distribution and product management, and manages all insurance company partners and vendors associated with the annuity and insurance business. CSIS is responsible for developing and maintaining all annuity and insurance products as well as supporting related platforms and tools.
What you’ll do:
The Sr. Platform Manager of Insurance Services will be responsible for the tactical and strategic support of the technology infrastructure for the annuities and insurance business. Specific responsibilities include:
Ongoing management of the AnnuityNet enrollment platform for capture and transmission of annuity applications. Includes coordination of testing for quarterly engineered releases, drafting of Work Requests for vendor sizing, and facilitation of vendor meetings to discuss issues and concerns.
Lead initiatives to implement product/system enhancements to improve the client experience, increase efficiency, and or mitigate risks.
Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g., insurance carriers, vendors, etc.) to understand technical realities to actively manage the delivery of a project
Conduct requirements-gathering meetings with users and appropriately document requirements. Actively participate in discussions on potential solutions and enhancements.
Production support of all insurance tools, including trouble-shooting and problem resolution. Ensure the highest level of service for internal customers.
What you have:
5+ years of relevant work experience in a technical project management and/or business analyst capacity
Experience in systems development life cycle including the ability to define and document specifications, work with developers to design/analyze alternative technical solutions, test completed code and complete a smooth implementation
Anticipates, manages and mitigates project risks. Escalates appropriately to bring management attention to issues.
Ability to lead and influence a diverse project team to collectively agree on project decision and action steps
Able to work comfortably with technical staff as well as business/non-technical individuals
Confidence in presenting strategic and tactical vision to the team and senior leaders for big-picture planning and day-to-day management of project goals
Effective time management and prioritization skills. Must be able to multi-task effectively.
Strong written, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of insurance industry and associated technology platforms is a plus
