Our Opportunity:

Client Tax Reporting (CTR) is a part of the Custody Asset Services & Ops Control organization within Schwab Operations Services. We are dedicated to leading a culture that delivers timely and accurate tax reporting in our efforts to create a premier client experience, while providing a controlled and disciplined environment that allows our employees to feel valued and engaged. Client Tax Reporting is under the Shared Support Services umbrella.

What you’ll do:

The Sr. Team Manager will be responsible for leading a team of employees performing highly critical functions within Client Tax Reporting. The team is responsible for the interpretation of regulatory (Federal/State) changes into the development of business requirements, identifying enhancements, and overseeing the generation of Tax Forms for end clients and regulatory agencies. The Sr. Team Manager will work with business partners and vendors on system changes. They will also develop, implement and manage procedural changes.

Provide operational and business support to diverse teams within Operational Services. This position is also responsible for reviewing and approving reports designed to keep the tax system accurate and current. The team reviews exception reports that identify illogical processing or system timing issues so to ensure that updates are made to the appropriate tax buckets.

The Sr. Team Manager evaluates employees and coaches for performance. They will also develop, document and communicate departmental goals and objectives, ensure that employees are engaged in their positions they and know what is expected of them.

What you have:

  • 4-5 years of management experience preferred

  • 5+ years of brokerage industry preferred to include tax reporting specific to IRA and Retirement products.

  • Series 7,63 and 24 or 7/63/9&10 strongly preferred

  • Heavy project management experience

  • Knowledge of international operations, unclaimed property, and various withholding requirements

  • Demonstrated ability with workflow management, process efficiency and process controls

  • Experience maintaining, identifying and installing proper controls without sacrificing productivity and the client experience

  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics

  • Prior experience working in high volume, high pressure environment

  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence, build consensus, and integrate complex information

  • The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound judgment, ability to multi-task, prioritize work based on multiple deadlines, quickly understand and respond to business needs

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word & PowerPoint and advanced skills in Excel

This position can be filled at a Team Manager or Sr. Team Manager depending on experience and licensing.
