Robert Half Database Analyst in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

Are you a data rockstar with a passion for building and maintaining efficient databases? We're looking for a skilled Database Analyst to join our client's team and play a vital role in ensuring the integrity, security, and performance of our organizational data! You'll leverage your expertise in database design, querying, and administration to optimize our data infrastructure and support critical business functions.

Responsibilities:

Database Design and Management:

  • Analyze business needs to design and implement efficient database structures.

  • Normalize databases to minimize redundancy and improve data integrity.

  • Perform ongoing database maintenance tasks such as optimization, performance tuning, and backups.

Data Security and Access Control:

  • Implement and maintain data security measures to safeguard sensitive information.

  • Define and manage user access controls to ensure appropriate data permissions.

  • Stay up-to-date on data security best practices and compliance regulations.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Write complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data for various purposes.

  • Develop reports and dashboards to present data insights to stakeholders across different departments.

  • Collaborate with business users to understand their data needs and reporting requirements.

Database Administration and Support:

  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

  • Perform database backups, recoveries, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Provide technical support to users regarding database access and functionality.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2-4 years of experience in a database analyst role.

  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts (normalization, data integrity).

  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.

  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).

  • Working knowledge of database administration tools and scripting languages (e.g., PL/SQL).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
