Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst position is primarily responsible for supporting the Brunswick Boat Group’s Financial Planning and Analysis function (FP&A) as well as the accounting and other functional management teams. The position will work cross-functionally with operations, sales, marketing, strategy, supply chain, and brand leaders to monitor and improve the Boat Group’s profitability. The role will report to the Boat Group Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and will interact with the Boat Group’s President, CFO and other members of the Boat Group’s senior management team. This position will be based at the Corporate Headquarters located in Mettawa, IL.

A successful analyst must bring financial acumen, thought-partnership, and demonstrate the ability to grow into future leadership roles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute core FP&A processes (annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and strategic planning)

  • Review and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance for the Boat Group

  • Identify and determine key drivers impacting the Category's P&L, balance sheet, and cash flows

  • Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics and variance analysis that explains financial results

  • Model business scenarios and track performance metrics used by leaders to make strategic decisions

  • Partner with functional teams to provide analytical support and performance tracking on key initiatives including cost savings projects

  • Utilize data mining and problem-solving ability to analyze results, identify opportunities and recommend solutions to management

  • Assist in the preparation of mid-month and monthly business review presentations for Boat Group and Brunswick Senior Management

  • Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors and Investor related presentations

  • Effectively establish priorities to timely meet finance deliverables, project deadlines, and corporate requests

  • Track and manage capital spending including preparation of financial analysis to support investment decisions

  • Identify and implement process improvements capabilities

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and lead special projects as requests are made and assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

  • 2 – 5 years of relevant work experience in finance and accounting required

  • Excellent quantitative, written, presentation, innovation, and organization skills with a detail-oriented mindset

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required

  • Power BI experience preferred

  • Must be able to work independently and possess strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including extended hours during critical reporting periods

  • Self-starter and proactive approach

  • Exercises sound judgment

  • Ability to work with leaders across finance and cross-function

  • Will need to exhibit analytical capabilities and work through ambiguous business situations

  • Must possess proficiency in accounting, financial and business analysis, and financial modeling

  • Ability to complete investment analysis on capital, margin, and cash optimization decisions
