Description

Position Title: Accounting Assistant

As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the accounting team in various financial tasks to ensure accurate and efficient financial management.

Accounts Payable:

  • Process and record accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate and organized vendor records and files.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Assist in processing customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances.

  • Record customer payments and reconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger.

General Ledger:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.

  • Prepare various financial reports and analyses as requested.

Financial Data Entry and Management:

  • Enter financial transactions into the accounting system with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for financial documents and records.

Assistance with Audits and Compliance:

  • Assist in gathering documentation and preparing schedules for internal and external audits.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting department, including answering phones, responding to inquiries, and assisting with special projects as needed.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in an assistant role.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
