Calabrio Payroll and Benefits Specialist in Minneapolis, Minnesota

The People Operations Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for administrating payroll for hourly and salaried employees. The primary focus of this role is ensuring timely and accurate payroll processes, people data management, and key benefits administration in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. This is a cross-functional role providing customer service support to managers and personnel in addition to record-keeping, file maintenance, and reporting. Payroll processing spans a global footprint but with a focus on US and Canada. You’ll also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on payroll and benefit related topics. The goal is to ensure the People Team’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.

What you’ll be doing:

Payroll

  • Ensure friendly, professional, and positive interactions with internal and external customers.

  • Always maintain strict levels of confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

  • Manage and maintain the company payroll and attendance systems ensuring attention to detail, accuracy, and the overall integrity of the payroll process.

  • Manage payroll including submission, resolving payment issues, auditing of reoccurring deductions and off-cycle payments, taxes, work comp, and creating and running payroll reports.

  • Answer and clarify employee questions about payroll and benefit-related matters.

  • Manage Payroll & HR Records.

  • Prepare, gather data, and assist with audits as requested.

  • Assist with 5500 filings in accordance with IRS guidelines.

  • Administer unemployment claims for multiple states.

  • Respond to garnishment notices and tracking withholdings and payments.

  • Assist leadership with the collection and preparation of confidential and important financial reports.

  • Comply with all relevant federal and state regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll and benefit-related matters.

  • Reconciliation of payroll deduction and enrollment records, allocating as needed.

  • Manage and audit insurance billings and ensure they are paid timely.

  • 401k payroll reconciliation and processing of contribution adjustments.

  • Prepare and submit forms 1094-C and 1095-C annually.

We’re looking for:

  • Must be subject-matter-aware and have strong attention to detail.

  • Experience working in a dynamic rapidly changing HR environment.

  • Canada or International payroll experience preferred.

  • Experience using Workday HCM and Workday reporting.

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines with an organized, logical, and methodical approach.

  • A drive to find the best answer in the most efficient way.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Ability to use own initiative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in HR or similar/equivalent experience.

  • 2-3 years of Payroll and Benefit administration.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Must able to accommodate flexible work environment (both in-office and remote).
