Amazon Principal Program Manager, Fleet, Global Fleet Product (GFP) in Nashville, Tennessee

Description

The Global Fleet and Products (GFP) team’s mission is to provide the vehicles and services that enable Amazon to delight customers through our last mile operations within Amazon Logistics (AMZL). GFP manages a global fleet of last mile vehicles including internal combustion engine vehicles, regulated vehicles and electric vehicles. Amazon is looking for a Principal, Program Management, to drive long term service strategy and network expansion strategy (topology) for the Fleet Service Center (FSC) program. Fleet Service Centers provide Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) with on-site vehicle service and repair, allowing DSPs to focus on what they do best – delivering to our customers.

The Principal, Program Management, will focus on long term service definition including warranty and collision strategy to close a market gap (a lack of market availability and speed) in order to drive a step change improvement in the last mile fleet vehicle health or operability readiness. FSCs service internal combustion engine vehicles, regulated vehicles, and electric delivery vehicles. Global fleet product (GFP) is on track to purchase 100,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030 as part of Amazon’s Climate Pledge and are a strong consideration in the FSC strategy. In addition to service strategy, the Principal Program Manager is responsible for network analysis and topology including station by station expansion in 2024 and 2025 to maximize fleet coverage. The Principal Program Manager will collaborate with the AMZL topology team and the data science team to define long term expansion. The Principal Program Manager will be responsible for evaluating both on-site solutions at the delivery stations as well as off-site opportunities with 3Ps. Finally, the Principal Program Manager will deep dive service impact on overall vehicle uptime to determine if the services offered have a tangible impact on fleet health and pivot the focus on services if needed to drive a best in class vehicle availability of 97%+. The FSC program launched at the end of 2022 and is focused on expansion now through 2025.

This role can be located in Nashville, TN; Seattle, WA; Arlington, VA; Detroit, MI; Austin, TX; Los Angeles, CA or Atlanta, GA.

Key job responsibilities

Evaluate warranty and collision service strategies to service our fleet of 70k+ vehicles. This includes deep dives on most impactful services as well as identification of market opportunities at FSCs or through 3Ps with high capacity.

• Implement warranty and collision services in layers: near term impact, medium impact, and long term impact so that we can make tangible progress while defining and executing toward a north star.

• Define network expansion and topology requirements based on fleet density, driving distance, and overlap with multiple strategic Global Fleet Product programs like electric vehicles and automated vehicle inspections.

• Execute topology analysis with data science teams and AMZL topology teams and overlay topology with 3P networks.

• Deep dive services offered with impact on vehicle health or uptime; identify services which will drive change. Root cause service offerings which should impact vehicle uptime or operability but are not; is it a service, quality, operations, cost or convenience issue.

• Own strategic plans for OP1, OP2, and 3YP (three year plan) focused on long term strategy and end of year tangible results.

• Leverage deep dive, delivery results, and think big to support the above efforts to systematically drive change.
