The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Nevada Department of Transportation Information Technology Division is recruiting for a IT Professional 2 - Project Coordinator located in Carson City, NV. This position will serve as project manager or scrum master to coordinate and organize projects to include all phases of multiple information technology projects ranging in size from small to medium. Identify, define, unify and coordinate various project related processes and activities across the project management process (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closing); determine appropriate project life cycle (predictive, iterative, incremental, agile or hybrid) for each project; establish and manage change control for each project; direct, manage, monitor and control all project work; validate project deliverables; establish exit criteria and manage project closure. Effective oral and written communication skills are a must since this position will consult with project sponsors and end users throughout the lifecycle of their projects. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Notes
