POSITION SUMMARY:
The CMM Technician is responsible to operate the coordinate measuring machines and to carry out a wide variety of duties in respect to maintaining the accuracy of our “master” measuring tools with a positive cooperative attitude supporting both the department and departmental leadership. CMM Technicians are expected to facilitate solutions and possess excellent listening, communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Post-secondary education or equivalent.
Must have experience running CMM programs or equivalent Coordinate Machine programming experience.
Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent.
Exposure to Quality Assurance systems and requirements an asset.

DUTIES:
Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects the company’s expectations and Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Cosma rules and regulations.
Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
Take initiative to follow through on completion of tasks/projects.

Operate CMMs to ensure accuracy for correlations and other activities
Ensure all gauges and fixtures are maintained and certified.
Perform capability / reliability studies.
Support all special projects (i.e. SMR’s, Prototype, Repair).
Provide support to all departments to resolve dimensional related issues.
Responsible to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the O.H.S.A.
Complies with relevant Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental programs (e.g. ISO 9001/IATF 16949, ISO 45001 ISO 14001).
Follow and ensure the company’s procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout the plant.
Ensure that you work and operate equipment according to Cosma’s safety rules and regulations.
Active role in maintaining excellent housekeeping through leading by example.
Ensure that your department is clean, tidy, organized, and a safe workplace at all times.
Perform other duties as designated.
EQUIPMENT and/or PRODUCT FAMILIARITY:
Office equipment, measurement equipment, production equipment, CM4D, LMI.
RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Will work under the direction of the Quality Manager. Travel and overtime may be required to meet customer expectations. A valid driver’s license and passport are required for travel. The CMM Operator works in a manufacturing plant environment and will be exposed to some elements such as temperature and noise. Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime in a fast-paced environment in order to meet internal/external customer requirements.
