Salary Range: $60.00 - $85.00 Hourly

Design Manager

Urban Engineers is seeking qualified individuals in Queens, NY to join our Facilities CM Department as a Design Manger. This position will be supporting current and upcoming projects at JFK working at the World Trade Center (WTC) in NY, NY.

Responsibilities

• Manage various design packages for the redevelopment work at JFK.
• Administer DB/DBB submittal reviews for design/construction and assess submittals for technical engineering scope.
• Assign/task appropriate discipline(s) (Civil, Electrical, Structural, etc.) to provide technical review/audits for complex design packages.
• Performs compliance assessment of technical packages based on identified design guidelines and RPW documents.
• Assure that milestones are met for the delivery of design packages, RFI responses and submittal reviews.
• Attend progress meetings onsite (JFK) and provide updates.

Requirements :

• Candidates must of have a minimum of five (5) years' experience in engineering design or project management of infrastructures projects.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university.
• Experience with system applications such as eBuilder and SharePoint and is able to navigate the software.
• Possesses experience with managing multi-disciplinary teams and resolve technical conflicts.
• Works independently in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent organizational and oral/written communication to collaborate effectively.
• Proficient in the use of software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license to apply.

Desired qualifications:

• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of NY.
• Professional engineering experience in design of civil infrastructures. including any of the following: stormwater and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution system, roadway design and pavements.
• Working knowledge of codes, engineering guidelines, and standards such as AASHTO, NYC Building Code, etc.
• Experience in problem solving, decision making, negotiations, and conflict resolution.
• Proficiency in auditing contract documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
