JPMorgan Chase Environmental, Social & Governance Controller - Associate in New York, New York

The Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting and Controller Team is seeking to hire an Associate who is passionate about leveraging their expertise to prepare, review and validate the firm's ESG reporting, develop strategic solutions, drive end-to-end controls, and provide value-add analysis supporting the progress toward the firm's ESG commitments and targets.

As an Associate on the Environmental, Social & Governance Controller Team, you will support the production, review and validation of voluntary and required ESG disclosures. As the ESG disclosure landscape evolves and becomes increasingly important to the firm, our businesses and external stakeholders (clients, shareholders, regulators), the firm has established the ESG Reporting & Controller Team to manage end to end controls, consistency, and accountability for ESG internal and external reporting processes across the firm.

Job responsibilities

  • Participate in Control Owner activities for Firm-wide ESG Commitments, including performing report validation, analytical review and variance analysis supporting the $2.5T Sustainable Development Target, and $30B Racial Equity Commitment

  • Participate in activities to support the preparation, review and assurance of over external ESG reporting and ensure consistency across reports and disclosures

  • Identify opportunities to enhance reporting control standards and accountability for the Firm's Annual ESG and Climate Reports

  • Participate on firm wide teams on the implementation of required ESG related disclosures and reporting including any SEC and/or Regulatory Reporting

  • Partner with the ESG/Impact Product Owner and Area Product Owner Teams to support the strategy and implementation of data sourcing, architecture & technology to support centralized ESG reporting & controls

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • 3+ years in a Finance organization with exposure to accounting, financial statements, and/or regulatory reporting

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience in Product Control, Financial Control and/or knowledge of ESG reporting/SEC reporting/Reg Reporting

  • Self-starter, with a demonstrated passion for social enterprise, development finance, and/or environmental work

  • High competency in Microsoft suite of applications (PowerPoint, Excel), Alteryx, and other program management toolsets

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Project management experience/skills helpful

  • Knowledge of the Firm's ESG products, transactions and activities and/or commitments, preferred

Soft skills

  • Operate with a controls mindset with strong organizational skills, time management, problem solving, written and oral communication

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

  • Team player with the ability to successfully operate in a hybrid 3-day per week in office work environment, including the ability to work effectively across diverse functions, locations and businesses

Candidates must be able to physically work in our New York, NY or Wilmington, DE office 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week. The specific schedule will be determined and communicated by direct management.

Base Pay/Salary

New York,NY $80,800.00 - $96,000.00
