Position Overview

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for supporting IT strategies to progress technology solutions supporting SubCom’s business objectives. They will work with the business to define scope and requirements, research solutions to identify appropriate features and define value propositions. Business Analysts also work with implementation teams to document and test system solutions they’ve identified to ensure ROI expectations of the solutions are met. The position will report to the Director of Enterprise Applications and is based out of Newington, NH.

Responsibilities

  • Document business processes to identify the steps in a process, the users and the systems they use, the effort and duration of each step, and the ROI. Identify potential process improvements to increase overall value.

  • Document business requirements in project charters and review potential solutions to identify those that provide the best match and highest value.

  • Engage vendors, monitor contract negotiations, and manage pricing discussions as needed for proposed solutions.

  • Manage projects or multiple technical workstreams within a broader project or program. Develop, implement, and monitor project plans to implement chosen solution.

  • Document, test, and troubleshoot solutions during implementations with third parties, and transition technical support to service desk team post implementation

  • Lead and support system upgrades of business software as needed.

  • Create and execute test plans to ensure all solution requirements are tested and documented.

  • Conduct training for new business processes and systems.

  • Establish and maintain non-technical system architecture documentation

  • Consistently ensures that business is always conducted with integrity and that behavior aligns with SubCom policies, procedures, and core values.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent years of experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with implementation teams and project management software tools

  • Communication skills to work with project managers and implementation teams, presenting recommendations, status updates, and roadblocks to success

  • Business acumen, listening and comprehension skills needed to work with various functional areas, understand and define their business issues, and develop cross-functional solutions.

  • Documentation skills to translate business requirements into organized project charters and define implemented system architecture documentation

  • Analytical ability, critical thinking and problem solving to identify and analyze solutions that provide the highest value to the business

  • Knowledge of project management software tools and management techniques.

  • Knowledge and passion for computer systems and information technology used to drive organizational excellence and support IT Business Objectives of Profitable Growth, Operational Excellence, Customer Experience, and Compliance.

  • Understand the fundamentals of computer troubleshooting, including how and where to search for answers to unfamiliar problems.

  • Strong communication skills, logical thinking, with a thorough and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.

  • Able to support teammates in a close-knit group working towards a common IT Business Objectives

  • Dedication to ethical conduct, confidentiality and respect for customers and co-workers.
