Granville Health System Chief Financial Officer in Oxford, North Carolina

Position Summary The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will direct and oversee Granville Health System#s financial management and serve on the Executive Leadership Team.##The position supports comprehensive leadership, service excellence, and financial management activities for Granville Health System#s service area.# As a financial thought leader and business partner, the position provides executive leadership and analysis for revenue cycle, short- and long- term financial planning, capital and operational budgeting, capital accumulation, revenue generation and expense management, financial analysis, and financial operations.# The CFO has responsibility for the recommendation of financial policies and the development of relevant operational procedures.## The CFO has overall responsibility for all accounting functions, AP/AR, Payroll, and General Ledger for all entities of the health system. Essential Duties # Responsibilities include: Administers the general accounting, patient business services, including third-party reimbursement, financial and statistical reporting functions of the hospital in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures. Assists the hospital CEO in the development of long and short range hospital operations plan which may include service demand analyses, resources availability analyses, and cost benefit analyses of proposed capital and staff expansions. Develops long and short range operational and capital budgets with are supported by the hospital#s long and short range plans and objectives.# Prepares cash flow analyzes and budget variance analyzes.# Recommends budget modifications as required.# Assist managers in the development of departmental budgets. Monitors hospital fiscal performance in realizing established plans and objectives of the hospital.# Identifies and reports undesirable trends and makes recommendations for remedial action. Directs the preparation of internal financial reports including work papers for annual financial audit.# Assures the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and assures that the reports reliably reflect the financial position of the hospital. Assumes a lead role in exploring means of reducing hospital operating costs and increasing revenues. Prepares financial data and associated reports required by government and other regulating agencies including payroll tax reports, public disclosure reports, and third-party payer cost reports. Oversees and maintains accounting internal control and other business office systems and procedures assuring uniform and correct internal reporting. Responsible for all areas of receivable management.# Ensures maximum efficiency in patient financial service.# Consults and negotiates with third-party payers concerning the hospital rates. Interfaces with leaders to perform financial analyzes, receive technical training, and for functional responsibility. Monitors overall facilities financial operations and ensure facility meets all regulatory requirements. # Qualifications Bachelor#s degree in accounting, finance or a related field; Master#s degree or MBA required. Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible financial administrative experience in an acute healthcare institution. Five (5) years in a senior leadership capacity preferred. Membership in the Hospital Financial Management Association preferred. Knowledge of legal and tax considerations, compliance reporting requirements, finance, budget development, and financial analysis.# Well-developed understanding of computer applications and information technology and be able to network the resources necessary to marry financial planning with the clinical and strategic operating systems of the organization.
