As IT Product Manager for Medical and Drug Safety at Ascendis Pharma, your role will be to enable our global Medical and Pharmacovigilance (Drug Safety) teams with technology. You will partner with the medical and pharmacovigilance teams and lead the product discovery efforts. You will prioritize the work to be delivered by the product teams – and help do the work where you can contribute.

In collaboration with the IT Business Partners, you will use your agile and industry experience to articulate what success looks like for a given product and rally the product team to turn that vision into reality.

You will join the Ascendis Pharma Global IT, Continuous Delivery organization, consisting of product teams delivering to business value streams. Ascendis is on a journey to a more agile based approach and by applying your knowledge, you will play a significant role in the transformation journey together with the rest of Global IT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Function as a Product Manager across the Pharmacovigilance and Medical Areas, managing dependencies and ensuring close collaboration between the teams

  • For the Medical Area, also function as a product owner of the technology stack

  • For the Pharmacovigilance area, work closely together with the Product Owner and rest of the team to ensure coherence of product

  • Build strong relationship with business stakeholders

  • Serve as the product manager for IT Systems, platforms, and applications enabling medical and pharmacovigilance business processes with technology platforms such as Argus, Veeva MedComms, IRMS etc.

  • Define product roadmap, backlog and systems strategy working with IT, business leadership and stakeholders for the product team.

  • Apply an agile mindset and behavior to effectively collaborate with release team and stakeholder(s).

  • Effectively interfaces and communicate with senior management and all key stakeholders regarding product deliverables, risks, resources, and budget.

  • Develop and manage business relationships with software partners, vendors, and service providers to ensure value realization on our investments.

  • Work with QA, data privacy and compliance teams to ensure systems are compliant and secure, adhering to processes/procedures in place.

  • Provide priorities from stakeholders to the product team ensuring value is delivered throughout the entire lifecycle.

  • Manage external systems operations partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in related roles (including a minimum of 1 years of demonstrated IT product owner experience) in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.

  • Understanding of medical and commercial IT space in life sciences – ideally both from US and Europe

  • You have been working in an agile team, relentlessly improving your working practices

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.

  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Travel requirements: 10% - 20%

  • Salary range: $180-200K/year
