Located in the Valley of Sun in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona, GCU is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University.

What you will do:

  • Stakeholder Communication and Training: Supports, trains, and communicates with counselors, GCU Faculty Supervisors, and cooperating teachers/mentors to ensure high quality clinical practices through a variety of modalities.

  • Facilitates, coaches, and evaluates GCU faculty supervisors to ensure successful completion of clinical experiences.

  • COE Candidate Support: Assists College with candidate questions, concerns, and escalations as well as various College supports offered to COE candidates when needed, such as Professional Growth Plans (PGPs), Personal Improvement Plans (PIP), "The COE Promise", etc.

  • Clinical Practice Oversight: Collaborates on and supports capstone clinical practice experience(s) that lead to continuous improvement of candidate performance and program quality. Works with various departments in support of the planning, development, and implementation of the capstone clinical practice processes.

  • Data, Reporting, and Technology: Utilizes university technology systems to develop, track, and maintain clinical practice activities, data, reporting/technology needs, and any changes necessary based on current and past data.

  • Resource Maintenance: Contributes input, creation, and revisions to COE stakeholder resources, such as website materials, clinical practice manuals and procedures, etc. Ensures materials are updated and disseminated to all respective areas, websites, and stakeholders.

  • Oversees stipend payment process for cooperating teachers.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, preferably in Education.

  • K-12 teacher certification required.

  • Always demonstrates a professional demeanor with a wide variety of internal and external contacts including representatives of regulatory agencies and members of the academic or business communities, with an ability to relate well to individuals of diverse backgrounds.

  • Keeps current with trends, technology, state and/or federal requirements, and GCU policies and procedures. Highly knowledgeable of pedagogical techniques and methods.

  • Analyzes information synthetically and communicates complex data in a comprehensive manner, showcasing strong analytical skills.

  • Highly organized with ability to maintain accurate information and manage multiple priorities and projects, strong planning, organizational and project management skills.

  • Excellent time management and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced, diverse environment with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of database management and strong ability to query and reporting databases. Proficient with computer software including MS Office Suite; familiarity with software databases is helpful.

  • Maintains confidentiality of student information and exhibits good problem-solving ability, judgment and sound decision making

  • Provides a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University and the College of Education Professional Dispositions and Core values.
