Our Opportunity:

Senior staff role within the Network Security team – providers of design/implementation/support of the network security infrastructure for Charles Schwab and Co.

Network security provides ownership and management of the enterprise network security infrastructure. The team is responsible but not limited to the engineering/deployment/support of all firewall solutions within the enterprise and cloud providers; B2B security solution deployment based on various access models; 802.x engineering/support ; deployment of audit attestation tools as well as audit support; 3rd level support in a 24x7 production environment.

As we migrate to next generation security technologies, cloud services, and SDN deployments we are looking for an “out of the box’ thinker with a developer mentality that understands SDN solutions and automation deployments

What you’ll do:

The Network Security Engineer will work closely with other network security engineers, data center networking engineers and internal/external customers to provide and maintain security solutions. The individual will implement our next generation Firewall technologies and develop solutions that are cost effective, maintainable and repeatable. Additionally this individual will be responsible for automation development, 3rd level troubleshooting, audit compliance/attestation, documentation of solutions, lab testing of solutions and be part of a 24x7 on call rotation. The individual must be able to work effectively and productively with others, mentor junior associates as well as be comfortable working independently.

What you have:

  • Bachelors degree or a minimum of 10+ years of IT work experience with exposure to design, configuration and support of enterprise data center technologies.

  • Engineering/Deployment/Support/Skills and knowledge of Palo Alto/Juniper/Cisco firewalls

  • Engineering and deployment of VPNs for 3rd party integrations

  • Understanding of IDS/IPS deployment and support

  • Routing/Switching background with deep understanding of L2 technologies, L3 Technology(BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), ACLs, WAN technologies,

  • Experience with the deployment/support of Cisco ACS/ISE in relation to 802.1x and Network authentication

  • Use of firewall attestation tools such as Firemon/Tufin/Skybox

  • Experience supporting infrastructure to meet network requirements by monitoring performance and availability and tuning network infrastructure to meet SLAs for LAN, WAN, etc.

  • Knowledge of network management tools and use with in a data center environment as it relates to configuration management, proactive fault management and capacity management

  • Network design knowledge in enterprise and service provider data centers

  • Experience in an environment with deeply embedded change management control

  • Ability to gather requirements, analyze alternatives, provide cost analysis, test options, configure devices and recommend, document and communicate highly technical solutions
