Banking & Trust Services (BTS) is the business enterprise within Schwab overseeing Charles Schwab Bank and the Charles Schwab trust companies. Our Opportunity:

The Senior Team Manager, Bank Deposit Operations is responsible for managing and reporting production issues related to Bank Deposit systems performance and application usage. The Senior Team Manager, Bank Deposit Operations evaluates, prioritizes and monitors production issues requiring vendor development. The role is the subject matter expert in bank systems and applications, day to day deposit, PAL and OCL operations, including account open, account maintenance, statements, escheatment, and tax reporting. The Senior Team Manager leads the Bank Issues team, which serves as the final escalation point for all non-monetary issues, escalations, and accommodation requests for deposit, PAL, and OCL accounts.

The Senior Team Manager, Bank Deposit Operations is a first line of defense position for Charles Schwab Bank and assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal Bank regulations in the context of their responsibilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide leadership and management to the Bank Issues teamSupport all Bank Operations processes and projects as necessary to maintain high quality service and build teamwork

  • The Bank Issues team serves as the final escalation point for all deposit, PAL, and OCL non-monetary issues, escalations, and accommodation requests

  • Train staff on issue evaluation and resolution, developing and producing ad hoc reports and documenting resolutions for newly identified issues

  • Provide regularly scheduled career planning and goal setting

  • Review staff work quality and provide regular performance feedback

  • Assist staff in development of consistent and professional communications with other departments

  • Ensure staff compliance with Bank policies and procedures, state and federal regulations

  • Review and approve / decline / escalate accommodation requests

  • Work with 23B partners to support efficient, sound operations while delivering an outstanding client experience

  • Evaluate production issues related to Bank Deposit System Performance and Application usage

  • Report problem issues to responsible vendor

  • Devise and communicate identified work-arounds for broken systems / processes until permanent resolution is implemented

  • Work with Bank Platform and STS Bank Technology partners on problem resolution

  • Provide on-call support for all high severity bank deposit applications issues

  • Provide SME support to Bank QA team when developing test plans for bank deposit production issues

  • Resolve client and related accounting issues escalated from internal Bank and Brokerage departments

  • As necessary, provide a forensic investigation into the cause of client issue

  • Implement and document resolution

  • Communicate results to appropriate internal Bank or Brokerage department

  • Develop solid working relationships with client-focused operations departments at both Bank and Brokerage

  • Design, create and generate reports to respond to audit findings, ad hoc report requests and to monitor activities of 23B partners

  • Assist in developing and maintaining processes for monitoring activities performed by 23B partners to ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures

  • Develop reports for monitoring processes and activities identified in audit findings

  • Develop and run ad hoc reports using DataQwik or Business Objects

  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support on project teams and user community forumsEnsure compliance with Federal Regulations

  • Represent bank deposit application usage, product functionality and statement process for bank deposit project

  • Ensure compliance with Federal Regulations

  • Audit the year end client 1099-INT statements

  • Oversee monthly statement review process

  • Evaluate Reg D violations for accuracy due to MoneyLink processing deficiencies

  • Oversee the Escheatment process

  • Oversee the year-end Tax Reporting process (including but not limited to: “B” Notices and State Data Match processing)

What you have:

  • 7+ years retail Bank Operations experience

  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills

  • Familiarity with Bank Deposit Applications, product functionality and Schwab system Bank interfaces

  • 2+ years supervisory experience

  • Self-starter with good time management skills. Must be able to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong data management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries and build strong partnerships

  • Ability to make quick decisions in fast-paced environment

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and macros required

  • Bachelor’s degree required
