Experience: 5 years of experience working on or adhering to safety programs. Requires skills and experience to involve: 2 years of experience working on or adhering to AV-specific safety programs; Firsthand experience in best practices for risk assessment with Operational risk assessments, HAZOPs and reactive risk assessments; Engineering design risk assessments with HARAs, dFMEAs, and pFMEAs; Experience developing programs and projects in accordance with the following standards: UL4600, MIL-STD-882E, ISO26262, ICAO9589, SOTIF, and ARMS Method for Operational SRAs; Firsthand experience with AV Safety Programs with at least two of the following: Safety Driver Operations, Hiring and Trainings System bug/anomaly identification, triage, and investigation and risk identification; Test plan, creation and planning, risk acceptance and execution; Safety simulation creation, testing and evaluation; Software release programs; Platform bring-up, reliability and quality programs; Operational Measure policies and oversight; Familiarity with System engineering Functional Safety, Behavioral Safety, Root Cause Analysis and Investigation; Firsthand experience with non-aviation Safety Management Systems and Safety Review Board, Voluntary Safety Reporting, non-punitive safety policies, safety performance indicators, Risk registries, Safety education, communication programs, safety culture management, safety mitigation creation and monitoring; Experience with program management, Stakeholder identification and communication; Project charters, resource analysis, DRI identification and using escalations effectively; and Tools: Jira, G-Suite, Confluence, Lightbox, and Jama.

 

Job duties: Develop plans for surface transportation projects, according to established engineering standards and state or federal construction policy. Prepare designs, specifications, and estimates for transportation facilities. Responsible for the enterprise Safety Risk Management (SRM) program. Create top-level policy and requirements for risk assessment activities, including company-wide Risk Matrix and guidelines. Work with operations, engineering, product and legal to ensure risk identification activities are provided with the top-level tools and guidance to conform to SRM policy. Ensure risk identification activities, are appropriately represented, with escalation protocols into the senior level Safety Review Board. Direct facilitation of risk assessments, creation of tooling, providing SME expertise throughout risk programs. Function as the SRM expert and build company-wide risk narrative, to include design risk and operational risk. Constantly improve risk policy through internal lessons learned, external benchmarking and constant engagement with the team's building the product to include implementing new, or improving existing programs where needed.
